La Campaña 16 días de activismo contra la violencia de Género

Del 25 de Noviembre al 10 de Diciembre, la Red Internacional de las Mujeres de la Asociación Mundial de Radios Comunitarias (AMARC RIM) participará activamente en los 16 días de activismo contra la violencia de género con una campaña mundial en el Internet para denunciar la violencia de género en los medios de comunicación y para transformarlos en catalizadores que contribuyan a terminar la violencia contra las mujeres. Los programas radiales y otras informaciones estarán en www.amarc.org/16days

Este año el tema de la campaña internacional es, “Comprometerse - Actuar - Exigir. Nosotros PODEMOS terminar la violencia contra las mujeres!”. Los 16 días de campaña comenzaron el 25o de noviembre : Día Internacional por la Eliminación de la Violencia contra la Mujer; continuaron el 29 de noviembre con el Día Internacional de las Defensoras de los Derechos Humanos de las Mujeres; el 1 de diciembre con el Dia Mundial del SIDA; el 6 de diciembre con la conmemoración de la masacre de Montréal (Canadá) en 1989 y; terminaron con la celebración del sesenta aniversario de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos, el 10 de diciembre, Dia Internacional de los Derechos Humanos.

Productores del Asia Pacífico, del Medio oriente, de África, de Europa, de Norte América y de América latina y el Caribe dedicaron los 16 días de la campaña a realzar los esfuerzos de las mujeres y de los hombres que trabajan para poner fin a la violencia de género. Los programas radiales de algunas de las radios y grupos de producción participantes en los 16 Días contra la violencia de género están en www.amarc.org/16jours . Los programas incluyen documentales, entrevistas, debates, poesía, música y mucho más. Esta radiodifusión multilingüe moviliza radios comunitarias en torno a un tema mundial incitándoles a usar las nuevas tecnologías de comunicación como el Internet para ampliar el impacto de sus voces.

Kabul, Afghanistan - Through a courtyard piled high with heaps of trash and teeming with flies, two sturdy women sit in a cool, dark room before a group of nearly a dozen women who range in age from 15 to 50. Oman Daily Observer - 04 September, 2009- Iran's parliament yesterday backed a cabinet proposed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that includes the Islamic republic's first woman minister. The assembly approved 18 of 21 nominees, propelling Ahmadinejad into his second four-year term. The candidates who failed to secure the required majority of votes were two other women nominees and Ahmadinejad's pick for energy minister.
