IYS: Call to Participation
Call to participation: Stories from the soils - Be a part of an international audio series!
As part of the International Year of Soils, the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) is partnering with the Office for Corporate Communication of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to facilitate the production of 80 audio pieces by producers and community radio journalists in an effort to engage discussion, improve public education and encourage the sharing of scientific knowledge on the topic of environment, climate change, food security, agriculture, sustainable development, resilience and economical, cultural and political issues related to soils.
The audio pieces will be featured on a dedicated page on AMARC’s website and on FAO’s website from March to December 2015. They will also benefit from a visibility campaign in the network of partners, members and on social media. The participating producers will receive a financial compensation and an agreement stating the terms of participation in this international campaign will be signed with the International secretariat of AMARC.
What is AMARC looking for?
- Documentary, reportage, interview, roundtable, storytelling, etc. The production must be related to the thematic of soils.
- The audio production must at least 10 minutes long and ready for on-air broadcast.
- Productions in local languages are welcomed. A short summary (200 words) in English, French or Spanish must be provided. A script must be included with the final production.
- This audio series also aims to illustrate the diversity, the originality and the quality of AMARC’s international network of producers. If you have a question or are interested in submitting a production, please send a detailed proposal via email to email@example.com stating your name, radio, country and details of the subject you wish to discuss in your production before March 6, 2015.
