European Parliament: AMARC affirms its commitment for media pluralism and a fair access to the analog as well as digital spectrum

Montreal, May 23rd, 2012. On AMARC Europe initiative, more than 30 representatives of the community radio sector gathered the 8th and 9th of May in Brussels in order to discuss and the radio digitalization switch over. All the most important national federations and associations, confederations of community radios at the European level attended the meeting.

AMARC participation in the annual Forum of World Summit on the Information Society

The World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) has presented its annual report on the community media situation on behalf of the sub-group on community media during the follow-up meeting of the line of action C9 on media in the context of the follow-up process of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) which took place in Geneva on May 14th 2012. Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, May 15th, 2012. Radio Bangu office, located in Bandundu City, is closed since May 10th, 2012, following a permission prescription of closure n° 249/TGI/BDD/2011, depriving the population of information through this crucial time when the Bandundu provincial government as well as the central government is taking office.
