Dakar, August 30th, 2012. The World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters in Africa (AMARC Africa) is organizing in collaboration with the Namibia Community Radio Network (NCRN) and MISA Namibia, a regional workshop on the theme: “Knowledge Sharing to Strengthen the Namibia Community Radio Network” on September 4 to 6, 2012, in Windhoek, Namibia. The workshop is supported by the UNESCO office for Southern Africa and Commonwealth of Learning (COL).
Brussels, August 23rd, 2012. On behalf of the European Board of Directors, the European Secretariat of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters, AMARC Europe organizes the forum “Public Policies and Media Pluralism: The Future of Community Radio in Central and Eastern Europe”. The initiative will be held in Budapest, Hungary, on November 12 and 13, 2012.
Montreal, August 13, 2012. The World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) celebrated the International day of the World Indigenous Peoples, which is held every August 9th, with an international broadcast campaign as well as a declaration. The theme of 2012, set by the General Assembly of the United Nations within the framework of the Decade for action and dignity, is : "Indigenous media: empowering the indigenous voices".
