The World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) is an international non-governmental organization dedicated to the development of community radio in the world since 1983. AMARC is composed of approximately 4500 members located in more than 135 countries. The International secretariat is located on 2 Ste Catherine Street, suite 102, Montreal.

Steering Committee nominated at the Knowledge Sharing Workshop to Strengthen the Namibia Community Radio Network

A steering committee has been nominated to spearhead the development of the community broadcasters sector in Namibia, following a three-day workshop organized by the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters in Africa (AMARC Africa) and MISA Namibia. Visit of AMARC’s Secretary General at the UNICEF headquarters

Montreal, September 6th, 2012. On August 28th, Marcelo Solervicens, AMARC’s Secretary General, visited UNICEF headquarters in order to materialize the Memorandum of Understanding between both organizations. He participated in a series of meeting with different sectors of UNICEF’s Communication for Development section and, more specifically, he did a brownbag presentation, entitled The Aural Edge: Community Radio in Humanitarian and Development Contexts, which was followed by an open discussion.
